Danza Orgánica (DO) is looking for an intern interested in working in a rich and stimulating diverse environment in Boston. It is an ideal opportunity for college and graduate students seeking experience in administration, production, and marketing. By working with DO, you will have the opportunity to sharpen your skills as an event coordinator, arts administrator, and/or marketing creative. DO is a solid dance theater company in Boston, in operation since 2007. We take pride in our focus on social justice oriented issues- and work from an anti-racist and decolonization framework. DO is unique in Boston. You will be working closely with the DO artists and company members- a wonderful opportunity to join the fight towards social justice through art-making.

compensation and perks:
Interns receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the festival duties. In addition, interns:
- are welcome to train with Danza Orgánica during the time of the internship
- might be able to join company rehearsals
- get a DO t-shirt
- attend for free all DO shows during the time of the internship
- get one complimentary ticket for our shows during the time of the internship
- get a social media shout-out when working with DO!
You will have the opportunity to join the unique process of putting together a large production in the city of Boston (entering our 7th year!). Unlike any other, We Create brings together self-identified women and gnc artists from all artistic disciplines to work together around a common theme over the period of 6 months. The culmination of the process is the We Create Festival. As an intern you will be asked to engage in challenging responsibilities in a high-paced environment. This year (2020), you will work with us for the two months leading to the production (mid-February, March, and mid-April).
•Coordinate catering and hospitality for dancers and production staff
•Coordinate Artists’ technical needs for the festival
•Communicate tech needs to technical staff
•Meet and debrief director regularly on progress of the festival development
•Meet with artists, volunteers, and tech staff as needed
•Provide support for the creation of promotional campaigns
•Promote event in social media
•Maintain We Create web page up to date with artists’ information (bio, etc)
•If needed- assist in the coordination of travel, housing, and per diems
•Further opportunities available based on specific interests and skills.
