Daka Yanuna- I am Mother Earth

Daka Yanuna is a multidisciplinary arts project that excavates the history of environmental racism through an Indigenous lens, with the goal of holistic decolonization and sustainable ecological justice.

Daka Yanuna's main goals are:

1. Develop a holistic artistic practice dedicated to decolonizing the mind, body and spirit; enabling new relationships between ourselves and Nature.
2. Train youth on best practices to protect the environment and become stewards of the land.
3. Facilitate community building between Indigenous groups to exchange traditional ecological practices with other Indigenous people.

We are currently in partnership with members of the following Massachusetts local Indigenous communities:
Nipmuc
Massachusett at Ponkapoag
Mashpee Wampanoag
Aquinnah Wampanoag
