Frequently Asked Questions



Q. Can men perform?

A. Men can participate as performers. However, the main applicant must be a self-identified woman or gender non-conforming artist.


Q. What Art forms are allowed in the festival? 

A. The festival is open to ALL art forms. Get creative! This year we are asking that people get creative on HOW they wish to express their art form in a virtual setting. Please provide that information on the application.


Q. What if I cannot make all the required dates for the Works in Process?

A. The Works in Process is one of the perks that sets us apart as a process-based festival. It is required for the creators to be present. 


Q. What if I can't find a mentor? Should I still apply?

A. Yes! We can help you find a mentor that suits your craft.


Q. I need help with the application. What do I do?

A. Email us at: wecreatefestival@gmail.com and we’ll schedule a time to meet and walk you through it.


Q. ¿Puedo someter mi solicitud en español?

A. ¡Sí! En la compañía todes hablamos español y podremos leer tu solicitud.


Q. Will we get paid?

A. Absolutely. The main creator (who submits the application) gets paid $500.


Q. Will the mentors get paid?

A. Yes, the mentors get paid $250.
